The Games are in Los Angeles
Sameritan Games is a civic activation platform that takes unresolved civic challenges, the bottlenecks cities keep hitting, the problems everyone sees and nobody stops to solve, and we run them through structured physical, creative, and mental competition.
The games are real. The challenges are real. The outputs are real.
What comes out the other side isn't just a winner. It's something real — a map, a meal, a model, a product. Something the city can use, build on, or adopt.
Three tracks. Seasonal challenges.
Every one open to you.
1
Creative
How do you start something in LA and not include the creators? Whether your talent is digital or physical (design, fashion, film, music, upcycling, or anything in between), the creative track is yours. Participants build, make, and produce work rooted in where they come from. Your skills serve the challenge and enhances the story.
2
Mental
Get curious. Get connected.
Something isn't working... we all feel it. Mental track participants don't just diagnose problems, they meet the people already doing the work on the ground and figure out how to support what's already moving. Less "fix the city," more "find the people and go deeper with them."
3
Physical
Play. Move. Show up.
Physical isn't just competition, it's presence. Whether you're on the court or showing up to volunteer across the city, your body in the space is your contribution.
Adults get to play again. Communities get to move together.
The First Challenge
Can everyday people do something about the food being wasted in Los Angeles outside of waiting on institutions to figure it out?

Circular Table took food headed for landfill and turned it into healthy meals at $0.21/ oz person, paid every worker $23-30 per hour, and produced near-zero waste. Circular Table wasn't created to serve just one type of demographic. It aided during a time of families navigating insurance and resettlement post fires as a cost relief. It aided groups of people who didn't qualify for SNAP but was living paycheck to paycheck. This wasn't a city program contracted out to us with deliverables. It was coordination and collaboration from the brain.
The next phase is rolling into the Games and we need you in it.
New questions have emerged.
-
How do we scale coordinated food recovery across the city?
-
How do we ensure we're complementing existing efforts in food recovery and food security?
-
How do we further connect the people already doing parts of the work to the resources and infrastructure they're missing?
-
Is there space to bring in local businesses in the mix?
-
How do we activate kitchens that are already sitting idle?
These aren't rhetorical questions. They're the challenge. And the Games are how we find the answers together.
We think yes. And we already have proof.

Next Challenge:
08/2026
The City of Los Angeles has faced mounting lawsuits over its sidewalks. You've likely seen the articles and social media posts. Did you know there's not currently a map of the current landscape?
We're proposing citywide sidewalk mapping walk. No venue. No tickets. No friction.
Show up, contribute something real, and help us put the city on notice that the people are paying attention.
